Wonderfruit is already a very special event, but what made it even more special for me this year was that I got to DJ there at a stage project that was helped initiated by me. The idea started with my friend Alex Joy from Wonderfruit 2015. I noticed from the vast ample space that you have in WF, its not hard to just get something going. However, because it is WF, you need something with a little bit of an edge. An eco-conscious message so to say.

Alex, with his event management called THE JOY COLLECTIVE, came up with the concept that took one of the structures in the festival and turned it into a rainforest like vibe with a vast lush jungle and awesome white camouflage roof. Throughout the area, there were LED TVs showing the impact that the stage was trying to do for rainforests in Indonesia and around. There were a couple of bars for drinks alongside booths selling labels like NARA LABEL and many others. Its this collective of people that is trying to create a movement for music, art, and technology for positive planetary transformation. I was DJing alongside some really great acts in the Rainforest Pavilion, including Dan Buri, Alex Joy, Halim Ardie, and our very own from Bali Praia DJ Fadi, Little Ale and myself.

Alongside music there were several activities including Talks about crypto currency and other creative and music workshops. During the day, Alex has recorded several sounds from the jungles of Sumatra and Papua that he plays during the day.

It ended up to be one of the more popular stages in the festival from the amazing music that was played in the stage, the amazing production that came with it but also from the massive buzz it created from the movement that its making. Proceeds from the stage are used to help save the rainforests. Making parties with a purpose. It doesn't get any better than that.
